Free Monster Day – The Flame Maiden

This week I wanted to release a new FREE monster for you all to enjoy. This is a more complete creature than the last one we released as it is the full page mock up for the creature. The artwork is currently just a demo and is only being used with this free version of the creature, the typeface for the page content is also not final. This is merely a rough draft sample page that we would like to share with all of you today.

You can view the original artwork by visiting Laura Ferreira who is a very talented artist. The image itself can be viewed from her Flickr Page, so make sure that you check it out along with all of Laura’s other stunning artwork.

Thanks for taking the time to view this creature and don’t forget to let me know what you think in the comments section below.

Free Monster Day #1 – Calygreyhound

So anyone that grabbed the Fantasy Grounds mod I created, Random Encounters Forests – Level 1-5, will notice that there is a creature in there that you won’t find in any D&D 5e books. That is because this is a creature that I created, though it was originally intended to be a part of the Codex of Creatures, I thought I would share it with everyone for free now and come up with something new for the codex. The creature in question?

The Calygreyhound, a large monstrosity that appears to be some kind of a canine at first glance. This creature usually travels alone and will only be found with its own kind during their mating season. This creature is extremely tough as well as quick, dashing in and quickly snapping at its target before dashing back out. They move so quick that their target rarely has a chance to get a hit in while they dodge in and out of range. When using this creature, the idea is to move in and get your attacks in so that you can move out by the end of the creatures turn. When used correctly it is very hard for PCs to get a lock on this thing and will have to adjust to deal with it.

So I hope you enjoy this Free creature and look for it in an upcoming adventure on Free Adventure Friday.
